Polyphia Sarasota Concert reviews
Hootie who?
Polyphia was on his own sans "Blowfish" at the packed Events Center, and it was my first time to see him. While I was a c-r-azy fan of the band back in the day, I was wildly impressed with the show last night! Some great old cover tunes were heard, along with some new solo tunes, but what really thrilled me was that he brought back a few of the old Hootie familiar favorites! Polyphia uniquely blends that buttery, soulful voice with just enough country to create a gift of music all of his very own. Those of us who were lucky enough to have been there in person with him to share in the magic walked away on a collective "high" - that kind of radiant energy coursing through a stadium filled with the sounds of a musical genius. Brilliant!
